Diamo NDS 10, PS 104 – Ammonia stripping, PS 114 – Steam source

KRÁLOVOPOLSKÁ RIA, a.s. executed for the company Diamo, s.p. the "PS 104 – Ammonia stripping, PS 114 – Steam source" Project. This Project was a part of the construction of the Neutralisation and decontamination station NDS 10 of the company Diamo, závod Těžba a úprava uranu  Stráž pod Ralskem.

Construction of the neutralisation and decontamination station consisted of the construction of the complex of 16 units fitted with technology for remediation of the impact of chemical uranium mining.
The NDS 10 station technologically links up the phase of mother liquors processing with technology of their neutralisation and alkalization with calcium hydroxide, with the consequent ammonia removal by means of water steam.

Solution stripping with steam takes place in the stripping column of the PS 104, aimed to reduce ammonia concentration in the solution below the maximum permissible value of 20 ppm. The ammonia stripping units are fed with steam from the PS 114, where the required amount is obtained through the system of vapours recuperation and direct steam generation.

Within the 9th year of the competition "PROJECT OF THE YEAR 2013 IN LIBEREC REGION" this Project was awarded the 3rd place and a Special award in the category "Cena Doc. Ing. arch. Karla Hubáčka Dr. h. c". This Project gives the future generation a chance of remediation of the impact of chemical uranium mining in Stráž pod Ralskem and revitalization of the affected area.
